Instructions on reporting your US and foreign addresses as required by U.S. federal regulations for F1 and J1 Students.

F-1 International Students

Address Reporting Requirement for SEVIS Compliance       

Federal regulations require that all F1 or J1 students provide their school with a physical local U.S. address and a permanent foreign address (outside of the U.S.), while they are studying at NJIT or have post-completion work authorization.

Regulations also require all students with F1 or J1 status to report changes of  U.S. address within 10 days of a move. When you report your address in your myGlobal International Student Portal  we will review it and update it in your SEVIS record. 

* Current students (except for OPT/STEM) must also report address changes in their Highlander Pipeline*

 

You MUST use this exact format to enter U.S. address and phone number:

 Address Line 1 – Street Number and Name

Address Line 2 –  Apartment Number (if available)

Address Line 3 –  City

Address Line 4 -  State:

Address Line 5 - Zip Code

Address Line 6 -  Phone number

 

For example:

 

Address Line 1 – 123 Main Street 

Address Line 2 – Apt. 14B

Address Line 3 – Newark

Address Line 4 –  NJ

Address Line 5 – 07103

Address Line 6 – 9735961235

 

 

All these fields are required by the U.S. government.

You are required to update them every time they change.
